If you were like us, trying to get your hand on of the HP TouchPad at slashed price tag, then there is some good news… kinda.
HP has been surprised by the high demand for its tablets since it has announced the discontinuation. On the company’s blog, one of the blogger wrote: “Since we announced the price drop, the number of inquiries about the product and the speed at which it disappeared from inventory has been stunning. I think it’s safe to say we were pleasantly surprised by the response”.
Because of this high demand, HP has decided to manufacture more tablets to “meet unfulfilled demand”.
It is also reported that the components suppliers are stuck with parts enough to built 100k of the smaller version of the TouchPad, the TouchPad Go.
Will HP be using these components to built the 10-inch tablet is not clear yet, as rumors are circulating that HP is about to bring back the tablet. HP’s executives hinted yesterday that they might bring back the tablet. Were they talking about this last run or bring back the production to its fullest is yet to be seen.

I finally have some solid news to share about TouchPad availability.
Before I share, let me first say thank you for enthusiasm for this product. Since we announced the price drop, the number of inquiries about the product and the speed at which it disappeared from inventory has been stunning. I think it’s safe to say we were pleasantly surprised by the response.
Despite announcing an end to manufacturing webOS hardware, we have decided to produce one last run of TouchPads to meet unfulfilled demand. We don’t know exactly when these units will be available or how many we’ll get, and we can’t promise we’ll have enough for everyone. We do know that it will be at least a few weeks before you can purchase. See more information in the updated FAQs below.
